Coming up with a birthday party theme for boy/girl triplets can be challenging! For my triplets last birthday, they were thrilled to have a Mermaid and Shark birthday party! Not too girly and not too masculine!

The triplets turned six in March but I’m just getting around to sharing all the details of their party! 

I think the key to any successful party is in the details. For instance why have regular sandwiches when you can have sandwiches that look like starfish? And why have regular fruit salad when you can have fruit salad in a watermelon shaped like a shark’s mouth? 

Currently we are renting a home and we’ve been fortunate to have a community pool that no one uses but us. For the party, we let the kids swim (we even got some fun mermaid and shark rafts), had fun finger foods and pizza, made shark and mermaid necklaces, hit a pinata and sent everyone home with fun little goodie bags.                                                 

Overall it was the perfect party! The kids had so much fun, it wasn’t a ton of work and everyone was ready for a nap after.
