As a certified health coach, I hear from women DAILY who are frustrated that they are not seeing results, or feeling like themselves. Their energy is down, they are ready to lose hope and just want to do what is right for their body and health.
If you are feeling this way and wondering what could be causing you to not get results regardless of eating right and exercising, check out these factors that could be playing a role:
Not getting enough sleep – Sleep loss can trigger a rise in insulin levels which means your body will hold onto fat.
Eating sugary, processed foods – These foods cause inflammation, bloating, gut issues and are big factors for your body hanging on to fat.
Not getting enough protein – Eating enough protein will actually boost your metabolism!
Not keeping track of what you’re eating – If you are not tracking your macros, you might be severely under-eating or even over-eating. It is so important to know how much of each macro you’re eating each day.
You are too stressed – It doesn’t matter if you are stress eating or not, when you’re overly stressed, your body will actually hold onto the fat it has.
Not doing resistance training – Doing resistance training, such as lifting weights, can help build lean muscle and maintain muscle mass. The more lean muscle you have, the higher your metabolic rate, which really boost that fat loss!
ALL of these play a direct role in the health of our hormones and overall wellness. While they may seem simple, they are often forgotten about or not prioritized. We live in a society where quick and easy food is more prevalent, where stress is part of daily life, where we are constantly feeling pressured to stay busy and that sleep is lazy.
